School Rules of Smart Move Academy

GENERAL

  • Every student must carry his/her identity card and school diary to school each day.
  • Students should affix their photographs and write the required information duly signed by their parents in the space provided in the school diary.
  • Students who come to school on their own should arrive 15 minutes before the bell rings.
  • The students are to reach the school at the specified time. He / She will not be allowed to enter the school after that and no calls will be entertained at the security gate and reception regarding the same.
  • The morning bell before a class or assembly is a signal for all to go to the assembly area or to their respective class – rooms. This should be done promptly and in silence.
  • Changing of classrooms between periods should be done in an orderly manner and silently.
  • Students should be habitually clean and always neatly dressed. The school uniform should be worn on all working days and for all school functions.
  • All boys must keep their hair short. Girls must tie their hair if it is of shoulder length or longer neatly with a black band.
  • Care must be taken of all school property. No student should damage any school furniture; write or draw anything on the walls. Damage done should be reported at once to the class teacher.
  • Parents are requested to ensure their children carry their personal belongings themselves to school. No lunch boxes, books, notebooks, project works, etc. will be taken up by the guard for being handed over to the students. No calls relating to the same will be entertained at the reception.
  • No application will be entertained requiring the student to leave the school premises for any personal/social functions i.e. marriages, birthday, going out of station, pujas, etc. Parents are requested to regulate their personal schedules accordingly.
  • Meeting time with the Principal:
    Morning 8:30 am to 09:00 am (Tuesday – Friday)
    Afternoon: 02:30 pm to 03:00 pm (Monday – Friday)
    Please note that other than the above mentioned timing, the parents need to take a prior appointment.
  • Lending or borrowing of money or other articles is strictly prohibited.
  • Students who come to school with their escorts should never leave before the escort arrives. In case of delay, they should report to the school office.
  • The school reserves the right to suspend students whose progress in studies is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
  • Parents and Guardians must not visit their wards or teachers without the Principal’s permission in the school premises.
  • Parents and Guardians of all students should contact the teachers on the PTA days to note the progress of their wards.
  • Student’s Progress Report Cards will be shown to parents every term, as per the schedule. These must be duly signed by parents after discussing their ward’s progress. Observations may be made, if so desired and the report card returned within two days of its receipt.
  • The name, class and section of the pupil should be clearly marked on all the belongings of the students.
  • Students will not be called to answer phone calls during school hours.
  • Students using the school bus shall maintain discipline in the bus. Bus facility will be withdrawn in cases where discipline is not properly maintained.
  • The school does not permit the celebration of birthdays in the school campus.
  • No student’s is allowed to come to school with bikes or four wheelers.
  • RULES CONCERNING ABSENCE

  • Students must have at least 75% attendance for promotion to the next class.
  • Please note that no short leave or half day is allowed in case the student wants to leave during school hours. Full day leave will be marked.
  • During the school hours, any student taking leave should be accompanied by either parent or legal guardians, the details of whom are specified in the dossier.
  • Any parent who wants to take the child with him/her, should forward the application to the Principal’s office one hour before the scheduled dispersal time.
  • The application forwarded to the Principal’s office should bear the name of the student, class & section together with the bus route or private conveyance mentioned in the same.
  • Any absence without leave being sanctioned in advance, will not be permissible.
  • Absence for more than three days immediately after a vacation renders the student liable to pay a fine of Rs. 100/- per day. After 6 days the name would be struck off the rolls.
  • For defaulters it may lead to suspension/expulsion from the school.
  • Once the child is marked present at school, he will not be allowed to leave the school, unless an extraordinary situation arises.
  • Parents are requested not to send their ward to school if unwell. Please note that an extra test will be conducted for every subject in both the terms to take care of unforeseen circumstances. So make the child take rest at home instead of forcing him / her to attend school.
  • A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease must produce a doctor’s certificate of fitness permitting him/her to attend the school.
    1. A student suffering from the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to class.
      Chicken Pox Till complete falling of scabs
    2. Cholera Till the child is completely well
    3. Measles 2 weeks after the rash disappears
    4. Mumps Till swelling has gone, about 1 month
    5. Whooping Cough Six weeks
    6. Jaundice Six weeks
  • LATE ARRIVAL IN SCHOOL

  • The school gate will close 10 minutes after the first bell rings.
  • All late arrivals will be fined Rs. 50/- if they arrive after the gate has been closed.
  • RULES CONCERNING WITHDRAWAL

  • If a child has to be withdrawn from school, parents are requested to give one calendar months’ notice in writing, failing which, one month’s fee will be charged in lieu thereof. Exception may be made in case of a sudden transfer of Government or Military personnel.
  • Those who leave the school in the month of May must in all cases pay the fee for the month of June.
  • Transfer Certificate for children withdrawn will not be issued until all dues are settled.
  • Students can asked to leave the school on the following grounds:
    1. Disciplinary
    2. Unsatisfactory progress in work
    3. Detention or repeated detention in a class.
  • A student who fails twice in the same class will not be permitted to continue his/her studies in school.
  • EXAM RULES

  • Students must have at least 75% attendance to appear for examination.
  • Smart Move Academy students are not expected to use unfair means during examination. A student who uses unfair means during tests will be given zero in the subject. Repetition of the same will result in dismissal.
  • The students are liable to be penalized if found doing so.
  • Assignments & MCQ are not conducted again, if missed.
  • RECOMMENDATIONS TO GUARDIANS

  • Parents are requested not to enter classrooms either to see their children or to seek interviews with the teachers during school hours.
  • You are requested to co-operate with the school in its attempt to help their children’s progress by paying attention to their regularity, punctuality and discipline and by taking interest in your ward’s work. You should check the diary every day and note the homework and any other instructions, if given. You are advised to check the bags of your wards to see if any notice, invitation, etc. has been issued.
  • You are requested to inform the school if there is any change in Yourresidential address or telephone number.
  • Leave for half day should be avoided as far as possible. In an emergency, written permission must be taken from the Principal.
  • Children, when sick, must not be sent to school to attend classes.
  • The child’s name, class, section and the bus number (if applicable) must be clearly mentioned in the applications.
  • Parents are requested to co-operate in the work of the school by enforcing regularity & discipline and ensuring that the school rules are observed. You must check the School Diary regularly and sign the home assignment/remarks, etc. meant for your information.
  • Kindly check the uniform, nails and hair of your ward every morning. You should be immaculately turned out daily.
  • Please ensure that your ward carries text/exercise books according to the time table only. No extra books are allowed. We do not want our children to be burdened by a heavy school bag.
  • Children should not bring crackers, colours, transistors, cameras, mobile phones etc. to the school.
  • There must be a name tag on each of your ward’s belongings. Expensive articles and jewellery are not allowed in the school. In violation of this rule, the article may be confiscated. The school bears no responsibility for articles lost in school.
